The PlayStation 5 has finally been unveiled, along with a bunch of new games you can enjoy when the console launches later this year.
The newest PlayStation5® Console
Upon reveal, you’ll know that the PS5 is the strangest-looking PlayStation to date. It’s sporting an extremely unusual design with white and black dual tones that’s seemingly built to resemble a high-tech and modern gaming PC.
PlayStation5® Digital Edition
At launch, we will offer two options: a PlayStation5® console with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and a PlayStation5® Digital Edition without a disc drive, a discless “all digital” one. The PS5 gameplay experience will be the same, so the choice is all yours.
Sony surprised us with another option to choose from. They announced a discless “all digital” version of the console that will be released at the same time as the disc edition. Since it won’t have as many features in the box itself, we’re hoping it’ll cost a bit less.
PlayStation5® Peripherals
Sony also showed off the pulse 3D headset, media remote, charging station for the DualSense and another iteration of the PlayStation Eye camera. All of them have the same white and black color set to match the console.
Featured as well is the newest DualSense controller that boasts some amazing features that includes adaptive shoulder button triggers with haptic feedback, a built-in microphone, and a new ‘Create’ button that replaces the PS4 Share button.
The main focus of this livestream reveal was on the many games you’ll soon enjoy with your PS5. The price and the release date for the console have not been announced but the closer we get to 2020 holiday season, the more information we’ll get about the next generation of PlayStation gaming.
