ASRock Beats ASUS in the Japanese Motherboard Market for the First Time in 10 years

ASRock beats ASUS in the Japanese Motherboard Market for the First Time in 10 years! The latest BCN Ranking report revealed that ASRock has toppled ASUS’s reign in the motherboard segment for the first time in 10 years.

The BCN ranking is based on a sales database compiled from the actual sales data of major retailers and online DIY stores, which together account for 40% of the Japanese PC market. According to the report, ASUS has been the top brand in the Japanese motherboard market for many years, but the times have changed.

ASRock beats ASUS - BNC report

The report shows that from April 2011 to February 2021, ASUS has been at the top of the list. It once had a market share of nearly 50% for motherboards, but has gradually declined since then. Since mid-2019, ASRock’s market share has steadily increased to an average of 30%, and even shrunk to 2.6% in 2019. But in February 2021, the gap between ASUS and ASRock motherboards was only 1%, with ASRock’s market share rising to 37.9% last month, exceeding 3.7%.

This marks the first time in the last 10 years that ASRock has managed to beat ASUS in the overall motherboard market segment. Perhaps it is because ASUS products are generally priced higher than similar products of other brands, and ASRock now offers higher-quality, more feature-rich motherboards at a more attractive price. Compared with ASUS, it can also provide better functions at a lower price.
