11th Gen Tiger Lake-H45 Equipped Laptops are Game Changers ft. MSI Katana GF66

Intel released before the 35W quad-core CPUs for ultraportable gaming laptop demands. Although the Tiger Lake-H35 CPU was good enough, it became evident that this was not enough to satisfy what avid gamers want. With Intel’s 11th Gen H45 processors, the company aims to offer a lot more.

The Intel 11th Gen Core i7-11800H, i5-11400H, and i5-11260H are among the latest Intel mobile chips. With these new CPUs, Intel not only competes against the Ryzen 5000 series chipsets but also provides a superb overall user experience.

Here are four reasons why you should choose one of these Tiger Lake-H chipsets for your next gaming laptop:

Delivers Desktop-Class Performance

New gaming laptops equipped with Intel’s latest 11th Generation “Tiger Lake” H-series processors are exceptionally capable not only for gaming but also for a wide range of CPU-intensive content-creation tasks that gamers are likely to perform.

Furthermore, the new Intel Optane Memory H20 (Pyramid Glacier) offers adequate responsiveness and high-capacity NAND to quickly launch games, creation of projects, or work files, with improved performance and quality over generations past.

Enjoy Immersive Graphics

These new Intel H45 processors have 8 Willow Cove cores, 16 threads, and 32EU Intel UHD graphics that is based on the new Iris Xe graphics architecture. Additionally, the Intel Graphics Command Center makes it easy to adjust graphics, as well as capture and stream games using the Intel Quick Sync Video—freeing your external graphics for the best gaming performance.

Features 20 PCIe Gen 4.0 Lanes

The new architecture uses 20 PCIe 4.0 lanes that connect directly to the CPU. This allows for an arrangement of either x16 discrete graphics and an x4 SSD or x8 graphics and dual x4 SSD in RAID0 for the fastest storage configuration. This is a huge move forward, given that the latest Ryzen mobile CPUs use PCIe Gen 3.0. This demonstrates Intel’s commitment to providing avid gamers with a better experience.

Faster Connectivity with Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6E

The Thunderbolt 4 port on the processor, which runs at 40Gbps, provides the quickest, easiest, and most reliable cable solution for accessories. Connecting 4K monitors via Thunderbolt 4 and using an extra GPU to boost the graphics capabilities of the laptop are among the benefits.

The new Wi-Fi 6E update, which uses the 6GHz wireless band, is also available for Tiger Lake-H45 laptop processors. With Wi-Fi 6E, there are less interference, faster speeds, and lower latency.

Here are our Benchmarks of the Intel Core i7-11800H ft. MSI Katana GF66 Gaming Laptop

For our test bench, we used The MSI Katana GF66 Gaming Laptop. Also, these are all out-of-the-box benchmarks, we did not overclock/undervolt the gaming laptop.

Temperature

Let’s start first with the thermal performance of this processor. Using MSI Afterburner, we monitored its CPU and GPU temps while stress testing it on MSI Kombustor – VK MSI Furmark for about 10 mins.

This processor with a Configurable TDP-up of 45watts has a maximum temperature of 87°C and 46°C on idle. A pretty fair result, thanks to MSI Katana’s Turbo Boost option that can max out the fan speed of the laptop.

Synthetic Benchmarks

For Cinebench R23, we got 10813 for multi-core and 1497 for single core. You can see here that our multi-core score is close to an i9-9880H. While the single-core result shows that this processor is ranked higher than an Intel Core i7 7700K, a well know performer in Intel’s previous generations of CPUs.

For the Blender Render test, you can see that the Intel Core i7-11800H certainly improved its performance compared to its previous generations.

MSI Katana GF66 Brings Tiger Lake-H45 Chip & NVIDIA RTX 30-series GPU Together Beautifully

MSI is giving its gaming laptops a nice power boost with the addition of the latest 11th Gen Intel H-series processors. Among them is the brand’s newest series of gaming-focused laptops, dubbed the Katana series.

The Katana GF66 is optimized to unleash true performance during gameplay. The new Katana GF66 is built with the same exquisite craftsmanship used to forge a blade. Run at optimal performance and shine on the battlefield.

As mentioned above, the MSI Katana GF66 is equipped with the latest 11th Gen Intel Core i7 H45 processor, it’s up to 40% performance gains over the previous generation. Achieve greater power with this 8-core processor supporting up to 4.6GHz dual-core frequency to maximize efficiency in gameplay, multi-task work, and productivity.

The MSI Katana GF66 comes in a lot of variants and can be configured with 144Hz 1080p displays and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU. It comes in a blacked-out chassis with either 15-inch or 17-inch panels. This is a budget-friendly option for all the avid gamers out there.
